The Fifth Scientific Conference on the Hakim Omar Khayyam Neyshabouri Was Held at University of Neyshabur

According to the university public relations' report; The fifth scientific conference and commemorative event on the Hakim Omar Khayyam Neyshaburi under the title of "Khayyam in the Mirror of Art" was held during two days from Wednesday to Thursday, May 28-29, 2022 at the conference hall of the Unversity of Neyshabur.

It featured online and face to face talks from speakers and presenters including Prof. Akbar Zamani Lanjani the mathematician, khayyamologist and the researcher of geometric pattern; Dr. Farzaneh Farrokhfar and Dr. Arman Yaqubpour the assistant professors at the University of Neyshabur; Mr. Jafar Salimzadeh and Mr. Reza Qarabaghi the faculty members athe University of Neyshabur; Dr. Younes Karamati, head of the Research Institute of History of Science, University of Tehran; Dr. Nasser Kanani, professor of Berlin University of Technology, physicist and khayyamologist; Dr. Jafar Aghaani Chavoshi the assistant professor at Sharif University of Technology and Khayamologist; Dr. Afshana Kamran the assistant professor at Kharazmi University; Dr. Saber Zahedi the PhD candidate in specialized translation from Ferdowsi University of Mashhad; Sara HajTaheran the art research student at Soore University.The speech topics were as follows: "Khayyam's birthday; its origin and how it is obtained", "Khayyam's position in the collection of the works of Mahmoud Farshchian", "Khayyam and architecture", "Khayyam and non-Euclidean geometries", "From the perspective of someone else's eyes; The image of lovers in Khayyam's illustrated versions", "Illustration and manipulation in the translation of Khayyam's poems", "The originality of the image or the forgery of authenticity: Omar Khayyam in the control of exhibition order", "Conceptual metaphor theory of life and death in poetry and painting", "Ways of representing the themes of Khayyam's quatrains in Edmund Joseph Sullivan's illustrations" and ….

This scientific conference is held every year on the Occasion of Khayyam Day at the university of neyshabur. In each event one aspect of his personality and works as a Poet, philosopher, astronomer and mathematician is investigated.
