Department of English Language and Literature

The Department of English Language and Literature was established in 1385 (2006–2007). It currently offers two academic programs: English Language and Literature and English Language Teaching (TEFL). The English Language Teaching program was introduced in 1396 (2017–2018).

The department has an academic staff of approximately 10 to 15 instructors, including six full-time faculty members holding the rank of Assistant Professor. Faculty members are actively engaged in teaching, academic research, and scholarly activities.

At present, approximately 200 students are enrolled in the department. The department is also equipped with one of the most advanced specialized language laboratories in the region. Covering an area of approximately 100 square meters, the laboratory is equipped with 24 individual booths, audio-visual systems, and a satellite network system, providing students with the educational facilities required for language learning. The laboratory also provides the necessary facilities for conducting audiovisual classes for various departments and academic groups within the faculty.

Student Status:

The department admits students in both daytime and evening programs.

Academic and Professional Activities

Among the department’s notable activities are the establishment of the University’s Center for Continuing and Virtual Education, the organization of specialized seminars on English Language Teaching, and the participation of faculty members in international conferences held in countries including Italy, Indonesia, and Russia.
