Neyshabur University Faculty Member Wins Khorasan Razavi Book of the Year Award
According to the Public Relations Office of University, Dr. Basafa, a faculty member and associate professor in the Department of Archaeology at Neyshabur University of Neyshabur, has been awarded the Khorasan Razavi Book of the Year Award for his book titled "The Archaeology of Khorasan during the Bronze Age."
The book, which explores the archaeological aspects of the Khorasan region during the Bronze Age, was recognized by the judges of the 20th edition of the award and selected as one of the outstanding works in the field of history and social sciences.
During the closing ceremony of the 20th Khorasan Razavi Book of the Year Award, held on March 3rd, Dr. Basafa's book was chosen as the winning work in the history and socio-political sciences category.
It is worth noting that out of 3,850 books submitted to the secretariat of this year's award, 752 titles were shortlisted in the initial stages. After a rigorous and meticulous evaluation process in four stages, 23 books reached the final round of judging, from which 10 titles were awarded or received honorable mentions.
The judging panel, focusing on six categories—religion and Islamic studies, literature, resistance literature, psychology and educational sciences, history and social-political sciences, and children and youth literature—reviewed the submissions and announced the winners.
This book is the first publication in the specialized field of Khorasan's cultural archaeology and is the result of over 15 years of research and studies by the author, spanning from the beginning of his doctoral thesis to the present. It focuses on the Bronze Age and its cultural transformations at the dawn of the historical period in the region. The work is considered a fundamental study in the archaeology of Khorasan and complements research on the Iranian Plateau, Central Asia, and Afghanistan.
The Khorasan Razavi Book of the Year Award is held annually to recognize and honor outstanding scientific, cultural, and literary works at the provincial level.
By winning this award, Dr. Basafa has further solidified his and University of Neyshabur's standing in the research and cultural arenas.
