Department of Textile Engineering

Given the absence of a university-level Textile Engineering program in Razavi Khorasan Province, one of Iran’s major textile industry hubs, the establishment of a Textile Engineering program at Neyshabur University has been a development priority for the university for many years.

Initial approval for establishing the program within the Faculty of Engineering at Neyshabur University was obtained in 1397 (2018–2019). The initial structure of the department was subsequently established through the recruitment of an experienced faculty member holding the academic rank of Assistant Professor. As the number of faculty members increased, the department officially commenced its educational and research activities with the admission of its first students in Mehr 1401 (September–October 2022).

The primary objective of establishing the Bachelor’s program in Textile Engineering at Neyshabur University is to educate and train specialized professionals and researchers required by the country in various areas of textile engineering, with particular emphasis on the current and future specialized needs of the textile industry in Razavi Khorasan Province and neighbouring provinces.

In the coming years, the department aims to significantly expand its educational and research activities by increasing student enrolment, recruiting distinguished and experienced faculty members, and further developing and equipping its specialized laboratories and workshops.
