Art Studies
The Master’s program in Art Studies is a higher education program designed to encourage critical and reflective thinking about art, foster artistic creativity, and enhance students’ artistic knowledge and perspectives. The program also aims to strengthen education, research, and scholarly writing in the field of art, while contributing to the development, orientation, and refinement of cultural activities and practices.
One of the key areas addressed in the program is the relationship between worldviews and artistic manifestations across different cultures. Students explore this relationship through the comparative study of diverse works of art, as well as through the study of Iranian culture and literature across different historical periods.
The ancient city of Neyshabur is regarded as one of the major centers in the history of Iranian culture and civilization. Throughout history, it has been a significant setting for the emergence of major artistic traditions and intellectual movements. Given its distinguished position within Greater Khorasan, Neyshabur provides a rich and appropriate environment for advanced studies in art.
Recognizing the importance and regional significance of this field of study, Neyshabur University has been admitting students to the M.A. program in Art Studies since 1391 (2012–2013). To date, the program has educated and graduated nearly 100 students.
According to the approved curriculum for the M.A. program in Art Studies adopted by the Supreme Council for Planning of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology on 1392/06/31 (September 22, 2013), the curriculum is based on the following principles:

The M.A. curriculum in Art Studies comprises a total of 37 credits, including:
- 6 credits of remedial courses
- 23 credits of core courses
- 8 credits of elective courses
- Additional deficiency courses for students holding unrelated bachelor’s degrees
