Biotechnology and Nanotechnology

Biological sciences and technologies play an important role in the development of a knowledge-based economy and in strengthening the country’s scientific and technological capabilities. By utilizing living organisms, their components, and biological systems, these fields contribute to the development of products and the provision of services that address human needs.

The growing impact of this advanced technology across various aspects of everyday life has led it to be identified in national strategic policy documents, including the Iran Vision 2025 and the Comprehensive Scientific Roadmap of the Islamic Republic of Iran, as one of the country’s strategic and priority technologies. Given the inherently multidisciplinary nature and high added value of biotechnology, its development requires the convergence of diverse scientific disciplines and the integration of engineering capabilities.

The Biological Sciences and Technologies Group was established at the University of Neyshabur in 2023, with the aim of bridging the basic sciences and engineering disciplines and ultimately facilitating their integration into the country’s industrial sector. As part of its future plans, the group seeks not only to promote synergy and convergence among the activities of faculty members and researchers at the University of Neyshabur, but also to establish collaboration at the national and international levels with active research centers in relevant fields and with major strategic and priority research projects.

Currently, the group admits students to the M.Sc. program in Chemical Engineering – Pharmaceutical Engineering.
